How Often Should You Get a Massage?

Everyone’s body and lifestyle are different, so there’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how often you should get a massage. But regular sessions can make a big difference in how you feel — both physically and mentally.

For general wellness and relaxation
If your goal is to manage stress, improve sleep, and maintain overall balance, a massage once every 3–4 weeks is ideal. Regular sessions help prevent tension from building up and keep your body feeling its best.
For chronic pain or tight muscles
If you’re dealing with specific issues like back pain, shoulder stiffness, or tension from repetitive work or exercise, you might benefit from weekly or biweekly massages until things improve — then move to a maintenance schedule.
For active lifestyles or Sedona adventurers
If you hike, bike, trail run, or do other physically strenuous activities often, regular massage helps with recovery and flexibility. Many of my Sedona massage clients schedule a session every 2–3 weeks to stay pain-free and energized.
For occasional self-care
Even if you only book a few times a year, a professional in-home massage can be a great reset — helping you slow down, breathe deeply, and recharge.
The key is to find a rhythm that fits your body and your life. Whether that’s once a month or once in a while, consistency — even at your own pace — makes a big difference over time.
